PRESS RELEASE – Tom Grech F4 Rnd 2 – QR
It was a much more positive weekend for Tom Grech who overcame some troubles at Townsville while the team got to the bottom of an underlying issue with the #15 car.
Race 1 was a fairly steady affair focused on consistent lap times with a step forward made with the setup of the car. That was evident in race 2 when he was fastest in sector 1.
Grech was relieved to put the gremlins to rest, “Race 2 was a lot better, it was a really good event on track for us. We got a really good start and made quite a few positions up into turn 3 but unfortunately we got pushed wide and I had to retreat back a little bit.
‘We finished sixth but a time penalty put us up to fifth, it was really good to get the points.
Tom displayed real hunger in the final race of the program where he took three places to finish fifth.
‘Race 3 was good. It was a lot of fun. Luis and I had a pretty tough battle there and I’m glad I was able to get past him. In the final laps I managed to get up to fifth.”
Grech ended the weekend with some points and made a major step forward with the car.
“I feel like we finished the weekend off pretty well, we’ve had some good racing and got some important points so hopefully coming into Sydney we’ll try and get on the podium”.
Tom is committed to the Championship after gaining full support from IQ Option, an international options broker that is firmly behind the young Victorian.
