PRESS RELEASE – Jimmy Vernon F4 Rnd 2 – QR

 

Jimmy Vernon and his Team Toolforce ‘Green machine’ had a solid round under some challenging conditions.

Vernon was off to a great start in Race 1 gaining a spot to fourth until a slight error on one of the kerbs took him back to fifth.

In Race 2 Vernon was well placed to take it to the leaders starting off Position 2 on the grid.

“Race 2 I sort of let myself down off the start, I started off the front row and coming off turn 3 I was fifth so disappointed in that part of it but I thought I drove really well in the race”.

Some on-track activity shuffled Jimmy back to tenth but his underdog racing spirit came to the fore and he made some finely calculated passes to bring his green machine back home in sixth place.

“Race 3 was a little bit disappointing for us, didn’t really have the pace of the boys around me. Started in sixth and fell back to seventh, we still made some gains and came back through a bit and ended up finishing in the points”.

Jimmy managed to tuck away some points from all three races and is now focused on his home round at SMP on August 21-23.
